What is Ilizarov / Ring Fixator?
The Ilizarov or Ring Fixator is a sophisticated circular external fixation system designed for the most challenging orthopaedic problems — non-union, infected fractures, segmental bone loss, severe angular and rotational deformities, and limb-length discrepancies. Multiple rings around the limb are connected to bone by tensioned wires and half-pins, then linked together with adjustable rods.
